Pompanuck Farm Hosts its Annual Memorial Day Potluck Picnic and Arts Celebration on Sunday, May 25th.

White Creek, NY. Every Memorial Day since 1994, Pompanuck Farm has hosted a day of community celebration. It is an “open house” event, a tribute to this day of remembrance and to the creativity of the people of our greater community. The public is invited to enjoy this day-long arts festival and tour Pompanuck’s buildings and grounds. Each year an outdoor stage is constructed and tents and tables are set for a community wide potluck sharing.

Over the years the Memorial Day Picnic at Pompanuck has become an annual festival of community building; networking, play, meal sharing and a performance showcase for musicians and artists in varied media whose offerings often reflect the spirit of peace. Some of this year’s performers are: Evita Cobo, Bob Warren, Ferrilyn Sourdiffe, Deena Smith, Bruce Williamson, Athena Burke, Scott Carrino and Friends, a number of Bennington College musicians and ZUELA – a world music ensemble lead by Barry Hyman and consisting of local teenagers who will surely get you dancing!

This event is free and open to the public. Bring a dish and family and friends. This year, Pompanuck will hold its Memorial Day gathering on SUNDAY, MAY 25 –2:00 P.M.until dark. Rain or shine as Pompanuck now has a new event tent!

Songwriters Exchange May 11 @ 7:00pm

Songwriters Exchange Concert Series:

Performances by area singer/songwriters- come explore the creative process during an evening of listening and conversation between audience members and this month's performers: Bob Warren, Deb Cavanaugh and Greg van Houten.
A songwriter and performer for more than thirty-years, Bob Warren has been on the road bringing his emotionally charged and lyrically astute songs to appreciative audiences throughout North America in venues ranging from coffeehouses like The Caffè Lena (Saratoga Springs, NY) and The Turning Point (Piermont, NY) to outdoor festivals and house concerts. Deb Cavanaugh, the recipient of a "Meet the Composers" grant, was recently a semi-finalist in the annual national JPFolks lyric contest. Deb performs at venues such as Caffè Lena and other coffeehouses in the greater Albany area and teaches songwriting workshops for young people at various summer camps, libraries and schools. Greg Van Houten grew up in NJ surrounded by garage bands. "Wound up on the B side because all the A side stuff was being done". Living in Southern VT for over 15 years, Greg brings his brand of Americana and folk-rock to small venues in the area with occasional forays into the greater Northeast region.
